“A type of grand battement in which the working leg swings freely from front to back, resembling the pendulum of a clock” (Lishka 1979, p. 23).
Common steps used in this combination:
Grand battement en cloche
Grand battement en balançoire
Attitude
Arabesque
triple (3/4, 3/8)
Compound duple (6/8)
quick, 80 bpm per "count"
Stress on every count (Cavalli, 2001 p. 109) which promotes a sense of swinging.
Fast/energetic waltz
Quick triple meter with emphasis on each "count"
Changes made in arranged score:
I added a four-bar introduction.
I only used mm. 15-29 and 62-76.
Reactions while playing the combination:
There were an extra 2-8s needed at the end of the combination for the dancers to stretch. I just improvised using the basic harmonic progression of the piece.
